Every few years, a couple of geniuses in Congress get together and decide that America doesn't need PBS. They say we don't need children's educational programming, we don't need to learn how to cook healthy food, and we don't need programs that house-bound Americans watch because they're not physically able to make a journey. We don't need music concerts, or theater, or films. And we certainly don't need any damn science programs.
The fact of the matter is, we don't really comprehend what we have already learned from PBS.
This is part of a campaign that I worked on with Dave O'Hare to remind everyone how much PBS teaches us. And how learning needs to remain part of the American experience.
